Some reinforcements are coming to the Mets this evening, and not a moment too soon. Jason Bay is back, and Terry Collins says he’ll be playing every day. Pedro Beato, who was excellent during his rehab stint, returns to aid the bullpem.
The casualties are Josh Satin, who didn’t have an obvious role on the team anyway, and Chris Young, who is on Paternity Leave List for a few days because his wife just delivered.
So congratulations, Chris, and buckle up for the resumption of the Jason Bay Era! Here’s hoping it goes better this time around. Figure the player to lose playing time is Andres Torres, not Kirk Nieuwenhuis; otherwise, Nieuwenhuis probably would have been sent to Triple-A so he could play regularly.
Interestingly, though: Bay isn’t starting tonight. Hmm. This bears watching, for sure.
As for who will go when Young returns, well, let’s see how Jon Rauch is feeling after his few days off.

Miracle of birth occurs for fifteen billionth time!
Rob, that wouldn’t surprise me even a little. Look for what they do when they return from interleague play next Friday against Cincinnati.
Herman, you’re a hard man to please. Criticizing Mrs. Young because giving birth has been done?
