One of my favorite things about Citi Field- and there are many- is the fanwalk with personal messages the Mets sold prior to the opening of the stadium. It provides a personal touch to the entry, and allows individuals to mark the stadium with a memory of a loved one.
My entry reads:
Gil Hodges for
Hall of Fame
The Megdal Family
I wanted something that captured the Brooklyn Dodgers my father supported, the New York Mets we both still support, and something that would link us to my yet-to-be-born daughter at the time. (I chose in the winter of 2008, while my daughter didn’t come along until March 2010.)
For those who missed out, the Mets have made additional fanwalk bricks available outside of the Seaver and Hodges entrances. All I can tell you is that I get sentimental reading the bricks of others, and love the idea that as long as there’s a Citi Field, my family will be a part of that exterior landscape.

Any bricks left over, the Wilpons can hand them out to the new infielders to use as gloves.
Hi there! This article couldn’t be written much better! Going through this article reminds me of my previous roommate! He continually kept preaching about this. I’ll send this article
to him. Pretty sure he’s going to have a good read. Many thanks for sharing!
