So if you follow the Mets, you already know that the Mets took a 6’3”, 190 pound outfielder named Brandon Nimmo out of Wyoming. He’s got power and speed aplenty, but the nature of Wyoming (no high school baseball) means projecting Nimmo is essentially impossible.
But let me put it this way- I trust the current baseball operations crew to take calculated risks. So if they took Nimmo, I am willing to see how it turns out. The nature of draft picks is, you can be right about who to pick, and still have it turn out wrong. Hence, my brevity.
Only think I’m sure of: the name will sound fantastic when announced by PA announcer Alex Anthony at Citi Field. But that’s really more about Alex.
