That’s right, with an addition to the Jason Bay clan imminent, the Mets have placed Bay on paternity leave and summoned Lucas Duda from Triple-A. Duda has been hitting well of late in Buffalo, incidentally. Also, there’s apparently some anti-Bay sentiment over on Twitter about missing baseball game for the birth of his third child, which is, frankly, insane.
Here’s wishing Jason and his wife well. I do wonder if he’ll be asked to put on scrubs. I expected to when my wife gave birth last year, but they didn’t bring it up. Is this typical? I’m not Antonio Cromartie, so I don’t have a means for comparison. And yes, I like to think Cromartie attends every birth. I’m a romantic.
