NEW YORK (AP) – A Mets minor-leaguer was among six more players suspended for 50 games each under baseball’s minor league drug program, Major League Baseball announced today.
Zachary Dotson, a New York Mets pitcher in the Gulf Coast League, tested positive for Methylhexaneamine.
Three Astros tested positive for Methylhexaneamine: pitcher Daniel Meszaros of Triple-A Round Rock, and shortstop Marcos Cabral and catcher Jonathon Fixler of Double-A Corpus Christi. Zachary Hurley, an outfielder with Oakland’s Class A Vancouver farm team, also tested positive.
Free agent pitcher Luis Mercedes was penalized for testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol.
There have been 73 suspensions this year under the minor league program. Cincinnati pitcher Edinson Volquez was suspended under the major league program.
