PHOENIX (AP) – The New York Mets have activated left-hander Oliver Perez off the 15-day disabled list and sent infielder Justin Turner to Triple-A Buffalo.
Perez has been on the disabled list June 5 with right knee tendinitis.
In the second year of a $36 million, three-year contract, Perez (6.28 ERA) lost his spot in the rotation this season and was banished to a mop-up role in the bullpen. Manager Jerry Manuel has said Perez will return to the bullpen upon his return.
Turner had one hit in eight at-bats since being called up on July 16.

this team is disgusting…they havent hit in the clutch since the day carlos beltran took strike three looking in game 7 of NLCS!! this organization needs a complete overhaul starting with the owners! we know that isnt gonna happen so why dont we start with Jerry Manuel & sad to say but hojo should be fired tonight! this offense is absolute disaster with the biggest bust Jason strikeout Bay. We have to lead the league in strikeouts especially with men on base. please Wilpons get your head out of your u know what and do something!!! fire omar or jerry or better yet put the team up for sale and ship them out of ny so i dont have to root for this sorry franchise any longer
sincerely,
fan who pays Jason Bay’s horrible contract
