Castillo activated; Tejada sent down

The New York Mets today activated infielder Luis Castillo from the 15-Day Disabled List and optioned infielder Ruben Tejada to Buffalo (AAA) of the International League.
Castillo was placed on the DL on June 5 with a bruised right heel. He played in four major league rehabilitation games with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League. He batted .154 (2-13) with two runs scored, one double, three walks and two strikeouts.
Castillo is batting .241 (34-141) with 13 runs scored, one double, two triples, 14 RBI, seven stolen bases and a .347 on-base percentage with the Mets this year.
Tejada, 20, was hitting .212 (22-104) with 17 runs scored, four doubles and five RBI in 35 games with New York.
