Adam Rubin of ESPN New York wrote that the Mets have scratched Jose Reyes from tonight’s lineup due to his continued problems with his oblique. Reyes, therefore, will not get a chance to be on the field when Carlos Beltran trots out to center field for the first time this season.
That means Alex Cora will be in the game playing shortstop while Angel Pagan moves up to the leadoff position in the batting order. Cora will bat second.
Josh Thole also will be in the game to catch for starter R.A. Dickey with whom he has more experience from when they both played in Triple-A.
