Former Mets manager Bobby Valentine will fly down to Miami today to meet with the Marlins’ brass about the opening for their manager position after they fired Fredi Gonzalez earlier this week. It is widely speculated that Gonzalez will take over as the Braves skipper after this season since Bobby Cox is stepping down. If Valentine is offered the job and he accepts, the Mets could see him Monday in Puerto Rico when they fly down to face the Marlins.
So, what are your thoughts on Valentine managing the Marlins? When the Mets were struggling earlier this season, many thought Valentine could be next in line as their manager, if they fired Jerry Manuel. Now that the Mets are contenders and only a half game behind the Braves in the division, Manuel’s job seems to be safe.
Could you care less about the move or do you think it’s a real loss to the Mets?

Thank you for that smart critique. Me & my neighbour were preparing to do some research about that. We obtained a very good book on that matter from our local library and most books where not as influensive as your details. I am quite glad to see such details which I was searching for a lengthy time.
