R.A. Dickey won his fifth straight game Thursday night as the Mets defeated the Indians 6-4 in the final game of the series. He allowed three runs, two earned, in six innings.
Once again, the bullpen and especially Francisco Rodriguez, caused some nervous moments as Pedro Feliciano gave up a run in the seventh inning allowing the Indians to pull within a run. In the ninth, K-Rod gave up a hit but ended up striking out three to earn his 15th save of the season.
The Mets offense was on fire yet again as they got 14 hits and six runs, three of which were in the first inning. Jose Reyes had a big night with a single, double and triple, an RBI and two runs scored. The Mets held their breath in the first inning when his hand was spiked while he was trying to get back to first on a pick-off attempt.
Ike Davis, designated hitter Chris Carter and Angel Pagan each had two hits. Davis drove in two runs. Jeff Francoeur was the only Met not to get a hit but he did drive in a run.
Even with a seven-game winning streak, the Mets are still a half-game behind the Braves as they also keep winning.
The Mets will continue their interleague play against the Yankees, who are in first place in the American League East division, this weekend. It should be a great series with a lot riding on it.

Its amazing to me how many ways you can go about investing your money. I’ve found for me that best solution is both risky and low risk stocks. I usually put about 1/2 my investments into low risk mutual funds that grow over time and the other half in high risk high gain stocks.
