NEW YORK (AP) – Major League Baseball is OK with the New York Mets putting pitcher Oliver Perez on the disabled list.
MLB received the medical reports from the Mets, reviewed them and today said the move was fine.
The Mets put Perez on the 15-day DL during the weekend and said he had tendinitis in his right knee.
Perez has struggled this season. He recently lost his spot in the rotation and was demoted to the bullpen.
Baseball tries to ensure that healthy players are not put on the disabled list as a way to take them off the roster.
