The Mets have the No. 7 overall pick come June 7 when the 2010 Major League Draft will take place. The Mets do not have a second-round pick as they gave up that right to acquire Jason Bay.

I used to think the baseball draft was a complete crap shoot. But now there are many guys coming up very quickly. Scouting has either improved or there is just an accidental burst in extremenly talented athletes reaching draft age all of a sudden.
