The 2010 Subway Series between the Yankees and the Mets begins tonight at 7:10 at Citi Field.
Hisanori Takahashi (3-1,3.12 ERA) will face Javier Vasquez (2-4, 8.01 ERA) in tonight’s tilt. Takahashi has performed very well for the Mets and will try to keep the powerful Yankees lineup guessing. Vasquez, meanwhile, is coming off a stint in the bullpen after a horrendous start to the season. Even though he has two wins on the season, the last one barely counts. On Monday, he pitched a third of an inning and picked up the win in a high-scoring affair with the Red Sox.
The action continues this weekend with a pair of really good pitching matchups. Phil Hughes (5-0, 2.25 ERA) battles big Mike Pelfrey (5-1, 3.02 ERA) on Saturday, and CC Sabathia (4-2, 3.43 ERA) takes on Johan Santana (3-2, 3.72 ERA) on Sunday night.
