The Mets have completed their 9-1 home stand with seven straight wins as the Mets survived a rainout Monday night to win all three games against the Dodgers. The Mets will retain their first-place position in the National League East no matter what the outcome is of the games their division rivals are playing today.
John Maine rebounded from his last outing earning his first win of the season by almost doubling his innings pitched, striking out nine and walking three. He pitched six-plus innings before walking the leadoff batter in the top of the 7th inning. Fernando Nieve, Pedro Feliciano and Francisco Rodriguez kept up the superb bullpen performance by shutting down the Dodgers for the rest of the game.
Every position player, except for catcher Rod Barajas, got a hit. Ike Davis and David Wright had two hits apiece. Angel Pagan and Jeff Francoeur each drove in two runs.
The Mets have an off-day Thursday before traveling to Philadelphia to face their rivals.
