The Yankees and Red Sox are set to get the 2010 season off to an exciting start as they square off in a little while.
The Mets start their season at 1:10 p.m. Monday as they battle the Marlins at Citi Field. Francisco Rodriguez is back and focused with the team after visiting his brothers, who were hurt in a car accident.
Despite the majority of baseball experts’ advice to send Jenrry Mejia down to the minors to work on being a starter, he will begin the season in the bullpen on the Major League roster. It’s not that people don’t think he won’t do a good job, it’s that the Mets’ apparent need for a starter outweighs the need for a relief pitcher.
Everyone says Spring Training doesn’t matter, but the Mets need to play better than their three-game losing streak to end exhibition play. Pitching is the key to a good season, so let’s hope the Mets’ starters leave their dreadful performances and ERAs behind.
Enjoy the game!
