Former Met and potential future Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez will make his first Major League start in almost a year when he takes the mound for the Phillies against the Cubs on Wednesday. Fellow journeyman Jamie Moyer will be sent to the bullpen to make room for Pedro.
Martinez has a 5.11 ERA in three starts in the minors, striking out 16 in 12 1/3 innings. He posted a 1-1 record in those outings. The strikeouts are surprising to me, but then again, he was facing Minor Leaguers.
So, love him or hate him?
