The New York Post Web site is reporting that the 2013 All-Star Game likely will be held in Flushing. Major League Baseball supposedly wants some time between last year’s game at the old Yankee Stadium and the year when it’s held at Citi Field. With the new ballpark and the all of its amenities, Citi Field is an attractive prospect.
The Mets have not hosted an All-Star Game since 1964 at Shea Stadium, according to the Post. That’s unbelievable when you think about it. There are only so many stadiums and ballparks in the country, so you’d figure that Shea would’ve been the site at least one more time since then. In contrast, there have been three All-Star Games played at Yankee Stadium since 1960.
