After former Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez undergoes a physical examination today, he could become the newest Phillies pitcher as soon as Wednesday.
Sources say that even if the Philllies sign Martinez, probably for less than $4 million, he wouldn’t be able to pitch until he goes through a Minor League stint.
According to Phillies.com, the Phillies’ scouts liked what they saw from Martinez as he threw two simulated games at the team’s baseball academy in the Dominican Republic.
How do you feel about Martinez becoming a Philly if he passes his physical? Do you think the Mets should’ve tried to get him or did they make the right play by standing pat?
