David Wright is starting at third base for tonight’s 80th All-Star Game, which is being broacast at 8 p.m. on FOX. Wright and the rest of the National League roster hope they can break an 11-game winning streak against the American League and finally win homefield advantage for the World Series.
Johan Santana and Francisco Rodriguez will both pitch, and they’ve been spotless in their previous appearances in the Midsummer Classic. They’ve combined for 4 1/3 shutout innings in six total appearances over the past few years. The three healthy Mets—Carlos Beltran will not participate due to his bone bruise—should represent the National League well.
So, will you be tuned in or will you take the night off like most of the rest of the Major League players around the country? Does this one count for you?
