The game is delayed due to rain, but Tim Redding is warming up in the bullpen. The lights at PNC Park are also on, which indicates they will get the game in. Stay tuned.
Looks like the new start time is 1:05 p.m.
The game is under way, but it’s still raining.

Top 3: Castillo hits a leadoff single. Cora reaches on fielder’s choice. Cora steals second. Wright grounds out. Cora advances to third. Sheffield flies out.

Jeff Karstens enters the game. Santos walks, loading the bases. Jeremy Reed pinch-hits for Dessens. Reed hits a sacrifice fly, scoring Church and putting the Mets up 6-5. Bottom 10: Bobby Parnell will get a chance to close out the game. Check that. K-Rod is back out for his second inning. McCutchen flies out to center. Wilson strikes out. Sanchez grounds out. Mets win!
Wow, what a game. It was very stressful and long but all that matters is they got the win. K-Rod ended up throwing 46 pitches, which leaves his availability in tomorrow’s game vs. the Phillies up in the air. He did pick up the win, however.
The Mets are now. 500 again and sit just a game behind the Marlins and a game and a half behind the Phillies, who play later tonight against the Braves.
Today’s win was much needed and gives the Mets a little momentum going into the series in Philadelphia.
