The results from Angel Pagan’s MRI came back, and the news wasn’t good. He pulled his right groin and will be placed on the disabled list. Pagan can’t seem to stay healthy as he missed most of last season and the beginning of this season because of injuries.
The good news is Alex Cora feels good enough to come off the DL, despite still having a torn ligament in his thumb. Cora has said he doesn’t feel any pain. He will wear a splint, but he said it shouldn’t affect his throwing. He will need off-season surgery to repair it.
With Pagan officially out for at least 15 days, the Mets will need Carlos Beltran, who was scratched from tonight’s game due to after-effects of a stomach virus, to get better as soon as possible. Jeremy Reed can fill in until then, but the Mets would love to have Beltran’s bat.
