The Journal News sports columnist Sam Borden wrote a column in today’s paper about how the Mets made the unusual move of getting not one, but two closers to shore up their abysmal bullpen from 2008. Grabbing Francisco Rodriguez and J.J. Putz was ambitious for sure, but Borden says there’s nothing to really compare this situation to so there’s no telling how this will play out this season.
