Manuel shakes up lineup; start delayed by rain

September
27

First of all, the tarp is on the field and first pitch will be delayed until 1:45, the Mets say.
Anyway big game today. Jerry Manuel shook up his batting order, saying he wanted to get his best guys the most at bats. Can’t hurt at this point, especially after what happened last night.

Here’s the Mets’ lineup:
Jose Reyes SS
Carlos Beltran CF
Carlos Delgado 1B
David Wright 3B
Daniel Murphy LF
Ramon Martinez 2B
Ryan Church RF
Ramon Castro C
Johan Santana P

Manuel said it’s Castro over Brian Schneider despite the righty, Ricky Nolasco, going for the Marlins because Santana has worked well with Castro. The last time Delgado hit third was May 22, 2006. The last time Wright hit cleanup was Aug. 12, 2007.

Here’s the Marlins’ lineup:
Hanley Ramirez SS
John Baker C
Jorge Cantu 1B
Josh Willingham LF
Dan Uggla 2B
Cody Ross CF
Wes Helms 3B
Jeremy Hermida RF
Ricky Nolasco P
