All about the Mets

Beltran 80-85 percent

September
23

We just spoke to Carlos Beltran after he finished batting practice. The center fielder said he woke up feeling better than he expected. Actually, his ribs are more sore today than his knee, which was what bothered him more last night.
Beltran said he wouldn’t have played if he wasn’t capable, but he felt good enough. The swelling has subsided in his knee. All that bothers him now is his ribs when he breathes.

Beltran estimated he was 80 to 85 percent. “It is good enough for me to give it a try.”
