On tap for Tuesday: The debut of Jon Niese

The Mets just announced they have tabbed Jon Niese to make his debut in Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Jerry Manuel said the organization made the decision.

“They felt he was the best choice,” Manuel said.

I just talked to Dan Murphy, a former teammate of Niese. He thinks the southpaw can handle the enormity of the moment with the help of his teammates.

“You can’t underestimate how much the veteran guys will help him,” Murphy said.
