Ski…I don’t know that they’ll let the young guys pitch. It’s really just Niese.

When you think about it, they’re promoting three relievers. I’d bet Al Reyes and Ricardo Rincon get their opportunities before Bobby Parnell. Reyes and Rincon, who is lefty, have the experience.

My guess is Parnell will eat innings in a mopup situation. If he comes in a K’s six in three innings, then maybe he could vault himself into the mix.

I think the front office chose the players but Manuel gave them parameters. He told us this weekend he didn’t want to clutter the clubhouse, but there were parts he could use. Obviously bullpen help is one part. A third catcher is another. A backup SS/3B is probably another, which is why someone like Ramon Martinez would get the call.

JOsh, GOod thought on the callups getting some action in lieu of Schott-twice. But what is the team’s philosophy about letting these young guys pitch? Seems like Willie didnt let them play much last year. Was that direction coming from the dugout or from the front office?

Is their pen good against everybody or just us? Their best is Lindstrom who is over a hit an inning and over walks per 9 innings. Who do they have that is even decent?

Watching the Mets on MLB.com and the Cubs-Phils on WGN. Amazing that Zambrano gets hurt right when he could help beat the Phils. I’m sure he’ll be ready to go the final week of the season against the Mets.

I’d have to think that if it came down to late in the game, they might even go 2 innings with Stokes. There’s literally no one to turn to that Jerry remotely trusts.

One more game then we get some pen help at least!!!

Thanks for the Niese update! Glad Beltran smoked one so nobody would say the Mets are mailing it in today. (Just kidding you)
This is the season for Florida. If they lose, 7 out with two teams to pass would be an enormous task, especially with a pen that might be worse than the Mets pen.
