Update (3:54 p.m.): Here is the lineup…same one actually:

46 Perez, P
Well, don’t expect any fancy boldface or italicized font. Don’t expect any links. And don’t expect instant updates…at least not for the time being anyway.
The wireless here at Pro Player Stadium is out, leaving me to blog on good ol’ dialup. Note to self: blog is not made for a dialup connection.
Anyway, it’ll be LHP Oliver Perez (9-7, 4.00) vs. RHP Chris Volstad (4-3, 3.42). Here are some pregame notes:
WILL THIS GIVE HIM THE HALL CALL?: Carlos Delgado — yes, him again — joined an exclusive list of active players with 11 seasons of 30 or more home runs. There are four now. The others? Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez and Jim Thome. … Ramirez, A-Rod and Thome are each just shy of their 12th straight season with 30. … One or two more good years at this pace and Delgado would probably warrant Cooperstown consideration.
FIRST-INNING TEAM: The Mets lead baseball in first-inning runs with 114, nine up on the Dodgers. They have scored in the first inning in 16 of their last 20 and in 89 of their 133 games overall.
STILL (ALMOST) ERROR-FREE: The Mets have made just four errors in their last 35 games, the best stretch of D in club history. Interestingly, the Mets are only third in the NL with a .986 fielding percentage. … I guess the defense wasn’t so hot statistically early on, but I think we already knew that.
MARLON ON THE MEND: Marlon Anderson went 1 for 4 last night as a DH for Port St. Lucie.

Jeff, John got the pink slip a week or so ago. Josh is the new guy, and doing a pretty good job so far. Did you see how ollie dared the fish pitcher to walk him? pretty bold. Hey Josh, are we gonna get back the last few posts on the side again? It was a great feature before. Lets get it back. Speaking of John, Is he allowed to post here as a poster or is he being blocked?
