In discussing Wagner/Heilman, Jerry Manuel made it clear Duaner Sanchez is not ready health wise. His velocity is in the 80’s, which is almost glacier-like to what he had been before the accident in 2006. Sanchez had two shoulder surgeries and is nearly 10 mph., off to what he had been with minimal life on his pitches.

Manuel also said he would pick his spots for Ed Kunz, which contrary to what he said in Houston, means he wants to keep him out of situations when the game is on the line.
Also:
-Ryan Church took BP today. I saw it. Hit a couple of homers. But, no word on when he’ll play in games. They say it is not a setback, but what else can it be? They screwed it up so badly the first time that they are being extra cautious. He’ll play in rehab games first, but when nobody seems to know.
-Luis Castillo is playing in rehab games, and GM Omar Minaya said he could be back by the end of the week.

As much as we need him, I am ok with the go slow approach.
How many times have they brought him back only to have him say his head is spinning 3 days later?
