It’s not often we get a lot of things just before game time, but we do today.
Pedro Martinez just finished his bullpen session and said he’s fine for Friday. About the death of his father, Martinez said: “It hasn’t been an easy time putting things behind me.’’
Ryan Church also gave a thumbs up after his batting practice. He said he would work out with the team tomorrow, then head to Port St. Lucie to begin his rehab assignment.
JOHN MAINE HAS A MILD STRAIN OF THE RIGHT ROTATOR CUFF AND IS DAY-TO-DAY.

Maybe I missed something, but, wasn’t Wharthen adament that Maine’s injury wasn’t at the rotator cuff?

Gado!
Still hard to believe that Carlos wasn’t playing like this for Willie because he didn’t like him….Strange
Heilman had no control in the 7th and we’re sending him back out in the 8th? This just further proves the need for a relief pitcher tomorrow or Thursday, we have NO setup man. Or NO FAITH in our setup man, take your pick.
You’re Welcome, Joe – somehow I always forget about the Los Angeles Angels – or whatever name they are using. To me Los Angeles is only the Dodgers. But, you’re right, those Angels do sneak up on you.
good start for hielman this inning. now if he could only not load the bases…
I think the diff b/a Manuel and Randolph is that Jerry goes out of his way to serve his players. I think Willie prefered to let things ride and have his players work through their issues solo. It’s what worked for him as a player, no doubt, so that’s what he chose to do. Jerry is more cerebral and is a great communicator. I just think these qualities get through to Delgado a lot better, a self proclaimed prideful man.
Stephan
alright ive never complained about an ump before but this is ridiculous
Here we go…
Its like Heilman found a new toy with that breaking ball, he had the Marlins looking foolish with it that inning.
i’d really rather not have wags come in and face the top of the marlin order…i mean as minor league-esque as their pitching is, they have a somewhat decent top of the order
Heilman circa 2006
JD, Im not defending you, I only wish you would please ban Sloppy and his other names to save the rest of us from his negative railings week after week. lets have a vote, who wants to ban sloppy? That would be fun.
Stephan: He did say that, didn’t he?-JD
ray- he’ll just make and use a different e-mail and start again, it takes like 5 minutes.
John –
About names on the blog – I prefer being Annie Savoy here – it’s appropriate and I’m used to it.
Of course in my other writing I do use my real name – the networks and the major newspapers require it along with other ID.
You’ve said that this is the Toy Department, so why not be a bit whimsical?
Even though Billy Wagner scares the living daylights out of me, he has ‘saved’ this game and Howie has put it in “The Book”.
More Mets/Marlins tomorrow at seven.
Great bounce back metsies, take your third consecutive series tomorrow with BIG PELF on the mound!
Nice win and even nicer to see Ryan Church out there celebrating with his teammates after the win.
Haha Yanks, score 3 in the bottom of the 9th, yet lose the series to the last place Orioles.
A solid win but the lack of info on Maine now has me concerned b/c the trade deadline looms.
Great bounce back win by the Mets, keep the train rolling boys. On banning someone. I am a IT professional. To ban some one on a non registration blog like this all you have to do is block the ip address from the computer the person is using to blog. The ip adress is a static address (doesn’t change). That’s the way they block someone by flagging the ip address. JD, refer to LOHUD IT Department.
Kevin – “AHFALFOFHOEHFIOEH”? Translate please. I tried it but couldn’t make it out.
Tomg – You are correct about the IP but it can be different if someone blogs from a different place. Or if they use a broadband card it may change. Different pcs behind a firewall may blog and the firewall uses the same IP for all of them. A little tougher but not impossible.
I love when I can’t blog coming and reading the blog the day after. I must say that Delgado is becoming a fav here again. Also, someone said Heilman sucks ‘cause of 2 walks. Still feel that way?
Ed Kranepool – Did you used to be DC? You were a lot funnier then.
