-Pedro Martinez was placed on the bereavement list and Brandon Knight will start tomorrow.

-Ryan Church has been cleared for light workouts.

-Angel Pagan opted for season-ending shoulder (left) surgery. He is expected to cleared for spring training.

How long can someone stay on the bereavement list. It’s only a few days, right? Does this mean Pedro will make his next start?

Thank goodness that Marlon Anderson is out of the lineup. It’s like hearing that I won the lottery. :-)

Three days I think for the bereavement list. Not sure about the next start.

I don’t how much, or even if, Pedro Martinez is throwing while in the Dominican. Don’t forget, he hasn’t thrown since the Saturday before the All-Star break.

This layoff can’t help. Don’t know how much throwing he has to do the get the rust off.-JD
