I know Easley probably could use the day off but last game against Zito he had 3 hits plus he is hitting 346 against LH pitching.
i think switching catchers is stupid right now. yeah, it’s a day game after a night game, but Castro should get the go for the righty/lefty match-up, especially since the Rockies will be throwing righties in the first two games of that series. The amount of baby-ing that goes on with these players is really starting to hurt the game.
I guarantee Castro starts against one of those righties. For a guy who has as much trouble staying healthy when given regular time as Castro does, I have no problems sitting him here.
against LH pitching
AVG OBP SLG
Castro 379 438 655
Schneider 204 259 204
Mauel’s pattern seems to be go w/the hot hand. And A Reyes got a couple hits. Plus, Easley is 38. He can’t play everday.
Anybody know why the Indians gave up on this kid?
Scheinder catching today is only a consequence of the longer game b/c of the rain. If it was not for the rain, maybe Castro plays. Plus, he did take a couple of balls off his body. But, no doubt he is better against LH.
Poor Brian Schneider. He is so bad at hitting that even Argenis Reyes hits higher than he does. :-)
iacnt wait to see what this lineup can do…..jsut a different look today….anyone whos name isnt castillo is good for me….GO METS!!!! ABOUT 25 MORE MIN TILL GAME TIME LETS SWEEP THIS THING
Argenis Reyes had a .353 OBP in AAA. Not too bad. No power though.
jay, its not babying. Omar made a headline trade of Milledge to get Schneider so there’s implicit pressure on Manuel to play Schneider at least half the time.
