Yea, that was obviously a mistake on my part. I’m not sure why I typed “road trip”. The brain and the fingers sometimes is off.

I have for better or worse been very close to the understanding of brain issues in the last six to eight months in regards to a child and I can tell you this much in regards to a 29 year adult male who is a professional athlete. When doctors do MRIs and they all, every one comes up negative and they see no damage to the brain they essentially rely on the ability of the patient to communicate the problems they are having.

If Church has had migraine headaches since his teenage years it is beyond easy to see him dismissing his symptoms as migraines.

So while many of you borderline accuse the Mets and Minaya of endangering Ryan Church, you completely dismiss the oddles of medical advice that was given to both the Mets and Church.

He has the 2nd most 7 inning games on the staff – after Santana – and has won 5 straight. I am not saying he is the second best pitcher on the staff, but right now he is a reliable pitcher which is more than you can say for most of the staff. OP also has pitched well in the past few weeks.

Checking in to take the mood of the blog and there really isn’t one. Nothing about the game last night. Was there a technical problem?

Just don’t understand how it seems the better they do there is less blogging going on? I am just trying to figure that out in socialogical terms and can’t come up with something.

Just maybe that being negative and losing are more conducive to blogging? Don’t know but it is kind of interesting.

Love the way, most people, including me, are like a jilted lover, with the Mets. You want to try love again but are just too afraid of being hurt again. Wow!!!

As for Church, the Mets messed up. But since there is nothing else negative to talk about w/the team right now, it sounds like you are just beating a dead horse and piling on JD.

Minaya also stuck with Randolph as manager for too long. Clearly, things have changed dramatically for the better since Randolph’s long overdue removal. I didn’t know much about Jerry Manuel before his hiring, but I like his style, the things he has to say, and more importantly, so it seems, does his team.

The same reason they used Schneider and Castillo as everyday players for so much longer than you could possibly hope that they’d “turn it around” at the plate.

To try and protect Minaya from looking bad about every move this off-season other than Santana, which fell in his lap.

There is no doubt the mets bungled how they handeled this, but the key issue is whether or not their doing so actually caused Church further harm, or if some of what’s happened was “going to happen” anyways.

Do you think you may be piling on a bit now? For so many different reasons, some of which you’ve already acknowledged, the Mets can’t officially omit that they bungled Church’s care and put his health at unnecessary risk.

At this point, short of the unrealistic propsoect of a complete legal admission of negligence, what sort of response would satisfy you?

At the very least, I think it’s now clear that they are willing to be as conservative as they have to be to ensure they don’t cause Church further harm.

John 2 questions on Evans what number is he wearing last time he was up he was # 6 but Trot Nixon has the number.
Also I guess now he does not get to play in the AA all star game. I think being in NY beat that but I wonder what he thinks.
