On tap for tonight …

Big game for Pedro Martinez tonight. He has not pitched well since coming off the DL. Only two of the six could be considered good. His last three, all losses, have been horrible.
We should know something more about Ryan Church tonight. If he’s out of the lineup again tonight the assumption has to be made this is more than just a headache. Moises Alou was to be examined today, so his status might become a little clearer.
Personally, I’d be inclined to have them both on the DL until after the All-Star break.

no no no, its just a migraine with Church…just ask him…
When thinking of Pedro, I can’t help but think of Delgado. He’ll have some games where he is the player that he once was, but more often than not, he’ll be bad. Let’s hope tonight is one of the good nights. :-)
JD: Do you think Winn or Ibanez might be a good fit for this team?
According to metsblog.com, Church is in NY to see a neurologist.
I agree with Alou remaining on the DL until after the All Star Break. I certainly do not want him to get back in a hitting grove for a few games, if he lasts that long, only to have the All Star Break. This way he gets the extra rest and cannot blaming rushing back should he have another injury.
As for Ryan Church, if the neurologist or whoever he is seeing tells him to take a few days, DL him retro now! This way the Mets will not be tempted to use him, and, he cannot talk his way back into the line up only to experience dizziness a few days later. The ASB will allow him resting time without losing that many more games. I hope for him to be totally healthy by August and September when, if the Mets are going to do anything, they will really need him.
both winn and ibanez would be good for this team. i doubt either would cost anything, and both can produce.
