Church update ….

Ryan Church was re-examined Monday by a neurologist, but GM Omar Minaya said it is a doctor he has previously seen. There are no plans for him to seek a second opinion or go to a specialist in concussions.
I’ll never understand why.
It’s the same old tired news. He has migraines and nausea, symptoms of migraines. But, they are also symptoms of concussions. What would it hurt for him to be shut down until he sees somebody else?
He’s still feeling things nearly two month later. Things obviously haven’t gotten better, and you have to wonder if they ever will.

The only reasonable answer is that they don’t want to say they were wrong.
what idiots
JD…
Have any of the Mets officials or Church himself, stated that what he’s feeling now is ANY different from his normal migraine symptoms? Either route you take in explaining this seems like the “convenient” route to go. One can say it’s the Mets using his history of migraines as a convenient cover for the fact that his may be concussion related. But then one can also say that it’s convenient, on the part of the media, to blame it on concussion (when it really may be migraine related) so that they can get a controversial story.
Either way…being a physician myself, I’m inclined to believe that this neurologist who saw Church now, knows what he’s doing and would be willing to refer him to a specialist if he felt it was appropriate. I agree that the Mets totally screwed up the initial portion of this whole thing but now, being this far out of the initial event, it may be premature to say that what he’s feeling now is all concussion related.
