Thank Jerry, tonight I don't have to watch Beltran strike out with the bat on his shoulder. That gives me ulsers.By the way I'm a huge Beltran fan, but the truth is this team has a lot of overrated and unmotivated ballplayers.

Beltran, as one of the few players on this team playing like a solid major league ballplayer, gets a free pass this season.

Gold Glove fielding, hitting .270-.280 with some power.

Lay off Beltran. Him, Reyes, Wright and Santana. They're all playing like they deserve to be in the majors, you can't say that about a lot of this team.

Overpaid? Probably but, really, all baseball players are.

At least he's playing like he belongs in the majors.

Beltran batting cleanup is one of the main problems with this team…he'd rather take strike 3 while trying to work out a walk (passing the RBI buck to the guy batting behind him), then to go for the RBI himself…If he's going to be like that in RBI situations, then he should be batting 2nd or 3rd so that a guy like Wright, can do the job that Beltran is getting paid handsomely to do…

Well, in a perfect world, I suppose Beltran would make more sense as a three… but on a team that has three legitimate hitters (Reyes/Wright/Beltran) two banged-up question mark hitters (Alou/Church) and… basically nothing else in terms of bats, its not that big a thing.

If the Mets had hitters one-through-eight, yeah, I would bat Beltran two. The Mets have hitters… one through three right now. One through five at BEST.

The order in which those guys hit is hardly the worst of the problems.
