I was pretty negative last night. I'd like to apologize to everyone for noting how Dan Warthen was seemingly wearing his pants too high. I don't know where this negativity comes from, but I'll try better to control it in the future.

I agree with all of your points, Ray...I tend to be the opposite...I try to avoid the boards after a loss because of the overwhelming negativity, and partly to forget about the previous night's effort.

Getting Church and Alou back will be a boon to the offense, which in my opinion has been the key culprit in this season's struggles. With those two, we have a lineup that is 7 deep (I don't consider Delgado an asset as a 5 hitter, but I do as a 7th place hitter). Hopefully the starting lineup can play together for more than 10 games before falling apart.

Ray Sadecki,
I can only speak for my self since I'm sure I am considered one of those fans. I didn't post last night because I wasn't near a computer but even if I was I'm not going to get excited because the mets won a game. When the Mets win 20 out of 25 games than I will get excited and be positive. Until than everything I've been posting I stand by because it is what it is. I just post my opinion of what I see from the Mets. Unfortunately the truth hurts.

What irks me is that when the Mets are winning, this board seems less active than when they are losing. I think this is true not just of the bloggers here, but other blogs and the FAN, too. Its like the negativity is a drug and some mets fans just cant get enough. I generally try to keep positive, but sometimes I fall into it as well. This team could very concievably be in first place by the all star game. Having Ryan Church back is huge. Anything we get from Alou or El Duque is gravy at this point. Pedro will improve, the guy hasnt pitched in two years, You cant expect him to be sharp right away. LETS GO METS!!!

If Pedro stays healthy he'll get better. I'm more worried about him getting hurt again.

JD:
shame on you writing them off. I tell my kids there's 9 innings anything can happen. 2 runs an inning will win it.
Keep the faith!

Team needs a long man for the nights their in the pen in the fourth. Wont Armas stay as a traditional longman and spot starter ( now that Petersons gone who refused to use the longman for a spot start) with Muniz who has looked over matched at times ( year away) being optioned to make room for Alou....

JD: They need Pedro to find himself in the worst way and for the bats to build some momentum. I think it was key that Manuel flipped Church and Delgado in the lineup. I still find it hard to think Delgado has more games like last nights in him, but I can still hope and pray I guess. :-)
