The Mets today signed 20 more draft picks from the 2008 First Year Player Draft, including their third round selection outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis. Overall, they have signed 34 draft selections.

 In addition, the Mets have signed their fifth round pick catcher Charlie Doyle, ninth round selection righthanded pitcher Eric Beaulac, 11^th round pick righthanded pitcher Jeffrey Kaplan, 13^th round pick righthanded pitcher Scott Shaw, 14^th round pick righthanded pitcher Brandon Moore, 17^th round selection lefthanded pitcher Mitchell Houck, 21^st round pick lefthanded pitcher Jim Fuller, 25^th round pick righthanded pitcher Erik Turgeon, 26^th round selection outfielder John Servidio, 27^th round pick first baseman Jeff Flagg, 28^th round pick lefthanded pitcher Jimmy Johnson, 30^th round selection righthanded pitcher Michael Lynn, 31^st round pick righthanded pitcher Michael Powers, 35^th round pick infielder Kyle Suire, 36^th round selection righthanded pitcher Jacob Goldberg, 41^st round pick catcher Tyler Howe, 42^nd round pick righthanded pitcher Tim Smith, 43^rd round selection outfielder Mark McGonigle and 49^th round pick infielder Doug McNulty.

Nieuwenhuis, Beaulac, Kaplan, Houck, Fuller, Servidio, Johnson, Lynn and Powers will report to Brooklyn (A) of the New York-Penn League. Doyle, Shaw, Moore, Turgeon, Flagg, Suire, Goldberg, Smith and McGonigle will be sent to Kingsport® of the Appalachian League while Howe and McNaulty will report to the rookie-level Gulf Coast Mets.
