Whoa.. I never said they treated Willie fairly. They did an ATROCIOUS job, BUT I don’t think it was as bad as some people made it out to be. Ken rosenthal said it was one of the biggest atrocities in the history of baseball. ESPN compared it to the Colts leaving Baltimore. I mean c’mon.

As for Manuel, he made a joke. poor taste? Possibly. But not as big of a deal. the Mets are a target rigth now. everything said will come under scrutiny.

As for me never working, I have always worked, since i was 14 years old (I am 30 now). I am the child of immagrents from Italy and raised to always work and to always treat people with respect. maybe there was another Franco on here, or you got me confused with someone else

Franco: It was an awful joke, in poor taste. Who the F wants to have this team have a “Gangsta” mentality anyway? Doesn’t this team have enough problems? I don’t get you Franco…from thinking that the Mets treated Willie fairly when they fired him to this, I get the feeling that you’ve never worked a day in your life, or you just don’t have the slightest idea of how to treat people.

JD: What is the deal with Manuel and his comment about cutting Reyes if he ever did what he did on the field again. If that is the exact quote about being a “Gangsta” and all that crap from Manuel, well I think he needs a big talking to. That is not tolerable, even in a joking manner.

Perez’s mediocre line: six innings, nine hits, four runs, three walks and two strikeouts. He averaged two runners on base per inning. Surprised he only gave up four runs. Of course, the Angels helped him out on the bases in the fifth.-JD
