I read a rumor that the Mets are looking to release Delgado and trade for either Xavier Nady or Jason Bay.

J.D. – Didn’t Willie say yesterday that Schneider would be starting today even though a left is on the hill? Has he said why no Schneider today? Injury?

...Also, what do you think of a Heilman, Delgado, a low A prospect, and Cash for Marte and Nady? Fills most needs including a lefty set-up man to go along with Duaner and we all know what Nady brings…

Grrl94 – Niese should be considered an “untouchable” to this ballclub. Likewise, pitchers like Smith, Pelf, Muniz, and even Figgy should not be considered expendable. Regardless, I’m no GM but Nady had to get traded in ‘06. If he becomes a Met again, I’d be ecstatic, but it feels like the Mets have a better shot at going for someone more along the lines of Nick Johnson.

Ilan B: sorry. I meant Mike Nickeas. He is a catcher in AAA and I think he is really good and a young catcher the Mets could eventually use.

There is no way Mets get Nady unless the Pirate GM puts too much Guieseppe Franco (Tiffany mention) hair cream on his head and forgets that the Mets have no prospects worth having.
