Mets in the Afternoon: Notebook

May
30

-The Mets have a decision when Pedro Martinez is activated from the disabled list for his start Tuesday in San Francisco. It’s not determined whether Mike Pelfrey or Claudio Vargas will go down to make room for Martinez. Of the two, bet on Pelfrey because he has options remaining. Carlos Muniz could be optioned with Pelfrey going into the bullpen.

-Ryan Church shagged fly balls and is taking batting practice. He said he will run sprints later. Don’t bet on this weekend.

-Carlos Delgado got two hits last night and made two nice plays in the field, and will start again tonight.

Church should not even be at the park unless he is in a suit.

Big Pelf should be sent down to get out of the lights and work on control and secondary pitches.
