JD, what do you think of Keith Hernandez as a coach? I was listening to M&MD today and Mike said last week when they were interviewing Keith before the Subway Series that he would take the job if he was approached by Omar.

RMKMets: I don't understand what it is about Bobby Valentine. Why would the Mets want to go there again? I am not surprised the drums are beating for him. He had half the NY media eating out of his hand and he hated the other half and they hated him. My dealings with him were few, but cordial.-JD

One point I want to make....kind of more of a Devil's advocate comment. BobbyV made just as many moronic, if not worse, comments during his time with the Mets, yet he always seemed teflon enough to get away with it, till the end. I guess, though, he always found ways to keep winning and get thru it till the end when they finally canned him after (and Im sure a lot of that had to do with Mr Phillips). Any thoughts?

JD: Well put. This is so typical of the stupid Wilpons and their way of business. I can think of a number of situations that they mishandled over the years...many had been prior to Omar's arrival since after he came they relegated themselves to the background but...THEY'RE BACK!

And, speaking of Omar, I think he should get just as much criticism. Adam Rubin mentioned this in his blog and it's stuff that I totally had been saying myself. Omar made these horrendous signings and totally destroyed the farm system. All this talk about building a presence in Latin America, and what exactly did it produce??? Meanwhile he's drafted horrendously. Just look at our Single A team and it's lovely 9-38 record.

And, yeah, people want to point to the trades he made to bring talent in and how he had to give up talent to do so...BUT....look at the BoSox...they did just as much wheeling and dealing over the years and look at how overflowing with talent their system is. My point is that Omar could have made these moves without killing they minors to do so if he had run it properly.

If Willie goes I think Omar has to go too. Omar built this team of junk

Tiffany: Perhaps. My musical tastes vary from Olivia to the Rolling Stones to Willie Nelson. I'm all over the map when it comes to that. But, that's a good call.-JD

I think it was the beautiful and talented Olivia Newton-John who once sang, "If you love me, let me know...if you don't, then let me go." Is there a chance (remote, I know) that you were channeling her when writing this?

John -
Is Omar coming to bury Willie or to praise him?

In fact Willie has been poorly treated before by ownership, hasn't he?

In my opinion Willie is one of the really good guys in baseball and deserves to keep his job - it's the players who haven't done theirs.

Yeah, its pretty silly to schedule this ominous meeting for a whole week later without telling him what its about. Just leaves wondering and worrying.

Amen brother Delcos! To tell a guy on the hot seat see you next week is shabby, very shabby. Whether you like Randolph as Mets manager or not, nobody deserves to be left dangling in any profession. To all those pathetic people drooling in anticipation of his dismissal, I can only wish the same fate on you by your company as they send your job to Bangladesh or somewhere. I think the team needs a change but to leave him dangling is very shabby. I guess that's why we rarely win. Our ownership is definitely not first class.
