Minaya's doing due diligence this weekend so he can make a confident recommendation to the Wilpons on Monday. They wouldn't can Willie on a road trip unless they already had someone lined up to take over the team. They'll wait until they get back home to give him the axe. That'll give them some time to figure out who the successor is (if they haven't already). That's not treating Willie poorly. He's making $2.5 million this year to manage the team.
