THE MOST DESPICABLE LITTLE METSIE IN THE WORLD SAID: "The only positive about it is if the increased ticket prices mean a higher percentage of the staid corporate types get in and there is less booing."

JK doesn't want policmen and firemen and soldiers and sailors to come to his new ivory tower becuse they aren't good enough to go to a metsie game. JK wants corporate suits freaks who steal their worker pensions to come to the Metsie game but not the soldier who risks his life to keep JK safe to come to the new stadium. JK has no respoect for all the hard working men and wmen of aMERICA who get ripped off by his corporsate thieves every day. JK thinks 99% of Americans are so low they don't even deserve to go to a baseball game. JK you owe the world a bg apology..
JK you will go to a place way down below when you die...

You a the most arrogant and snotty metsie fan in the world
JK thinks that rich corporaste people who rip off average americans and live or self greed are above booing. You are a very disgusting and and arrogant person JK. Do you really think your corporate friends are superior entities? You are the most disgusting person in the whole met universe. JK doesn't think most of you posters are good enough to deserve to go to a lousy baseball game. Delcos isn't corporate scum like you JK. Lets call the suit police and kick him out of the stadium.. Make hgim watch on TV. You probably don't think he is goiod enough to own one. DESPICABLE superior not JK..... SHAME SHAME SHAME.....

This year the Mets are exceeding last year's average attendance. Assuming their popularity would remain high like this over the next five years due to both a new park and a competitive team, they will be losing a lot of money because of the decreased capacity. Perhaps half a million or more a year in attendance. And that doesn't include smaller potential crowds in the postseason where ticket prices are higher.

I read where they claim they will save in the long run due to decreased construction and maintenance costs and increased ticket prices, but I still don't like their decision.

The only positive about it is if the increased ticket prices mean a higher percentage of the staid corporate types get in and there is less booing.

Waste of tax payer money? Both stadiums are privately built, the city is paying for "infrastructure improvement" (subways, LIRR ect.)

People are freaking about losing all these seats, but the bottom line is that the Mets only one time averaged 47,000 fans in the entire history of Shea Stadium and that was in 2007.

The Mets really don't have any history as a franchise. What do you want, the Doc Gooden Coke machines? I mean honesty, besides Tom Seaver, the Mets don't have anything to really hang their hats on.

Just be happy we get a new stadium.

I swear this fan base just loves to complain about ANYTHING.

Are you kidding? I'm waiting to hear if there is going to be anything at the new stadium named after a Met player. Knowing Wilpon it will be something having to do with Gil Hodges who of course was a Brooklyn Dodger too.

Did anyone say whether it was absolutely necessary to reduce the seating capacity by 14,000 seats over what Shea has? Maybe it was necessary to get a "close to the action" field but I'm afraid many of the working-class people who treasure their occasional trips to the ballpark will be frozen out. Not that the Wilpons or the politicians who authorize this waste of taxpayer money in Flushing or Bronx care.
