In the clubhouse

May
7

Who thinks of starting a game at noon? The clubhouse was open at 8:30 this morning (local), but nearly two hours later there’s hardly anybody here.

SportsCenter is on. Scott Schoeneweis is doing a crossword puzzle. Carlos Beltran just walked in and it looks like he still has the flu. John Maine is listening to some bluegrass.

The line-up hasn’t been posted, but don’t be surprised if Willie Randolph starts much of his bench.

    JD—
If Beltran isn’t going to play, Willie better not sit Alou.

I have a funny feeling the OF today will have Church, Pagan & Chavez/Easley/Anderson

    2B will be Easley

    1B will be Anderson

    C Cassanova

All in all, another Wilie Being Willie Getaway Day/Giveaway A Win

I think Delgado starts but not Alou. I wouldn’t mind Easley at 2b to be honest.

JD, has Fred Wilpon said anything about the season yet. I would like to see him show some passion and try to light a fire under their you know what.

at this point i’d have no problems with marlon anderson, damion easley and endy chavez getting starts today at 1st, 2nd, and CF respectively. could they do any worse?

and call me a glutton for punishment, but i’m going back to the ballpark today for what will hopefully be a better more enjoyable outcome then last night’s game.

    ugh.

I guess you won’t cover Patriot’s Day games will you?

  5. Stillsane

Let’s guess the line up for fun:

    Reyes SS
    Pagan CF
    Wright 3B
    Church RF
    Easley 2B
    Anderson 1B
    Chavez LF
    Casanova C
    Maine P

I do not access to the game, so if it is already posted…my bad = )

I would not mind the bench playing instead of the starters. That might send a msg of sorts.

Also our 22 and 3b need a break now and then.

Sloppy: I’ve covered those games. But, they are on Mondays and don’t follow night games. There’s a difference.-JD

    Willie should have benched Wright.
He looks like a deer in headlights at the plate.
The 2 days would have been good for him methinks.

Deezo?? did you see those defensive plays he made. maybe you meant to say delgado. not wright.
