About Last Night: Caution please.

May

Just as we shouldn’t get carried away and think the world is coming to an end after one loss, we shouldn’t get sucked into believing all is right in their universe when they win one.

Brandon Webb vs. Mike Pelfrey today, should bring everybody back to Earth.

That said, Jose Reyes was a good sign last night. But, he’s had those games before. Now he needs to string a few of them together.

i don’t think the Mets will be at their best until Brian Schneider comes back. he is a part of everything and especially mike pelfrey and some of the relievers. the pitchers seem more confident with him behind the plate

I agree with you but I do like Casanova as an offensive player though.

I’m hoping Brian Schneider can catch today, he needs to be in there with Pelfrey on the mound. I know Webb is pitching, but this team is so comfortable playing at this stadium and I wouldn’t be surprised to see another breakout game.

I agree completely in that we can’t get excited just yet. We get spanked at home by a minor league team the other night then come out with a great effort in Arizona. I want to see a bit more consistent good play before I pop the Champagne…who am I kidding…I am a beer guy!

The key for the Mets today is to be patient and make Webb throw pitches.

Pelfrey has to be agressive and just throw strikes. Hoefully he can get his sinker under control and induce the ground ball.

    As always LETS GO METS!!!

Just looked at today’s lineup… why isn’t Alou in it??

  7. Doug

Day game after a night game.

Slow and steady with Alou, risking him in May isn’t worth it.

willie is probably starting off slowly with alou because he hasn’t played regularly in so long. most likely because it is a day game after a night game.

oh yeah, why are the comments off in the chat room?

  9. Josh

Wasn’t he taken out in the 6th inning yesterday?? He should be playing today, considering he absolutely owns Webb…

Willie is actually doing the right thing with Alou. He played him every game last year and that didn’t work out very well, he got injured. Ease him back in there, let that ankle recover, it might not be fractured, but from what i read, its swollen. And either way, its Webb, and we’ve got the Big Pelf. A #5 against a #1, kind of a mismatch, and with a day game following a night game, its a good chance to get breathers for Alou and Castillo.

metsfan is so orange and blue or is it now black and blue!!!! If it weren’t for “despicable” behavior toward the host of this wonderful site I would call you the best little metsie in the world. But Mr Delcos invites us all into his home, you could at least show some respect to him.
PS: I’m very impressed that Mr Alou is so old and withered that he needs a rest after 6 whole innings…..
