CD: You are actually going to compare a stadium opening in 1964 to a stadium opening now? You are a funny funny man! Gee, how much do you want to wager that when Citifield opens up it will be sold out just about every game? And I guarantee you, the Mets are alot more closer to a WS championship then the Senat…oh sorry, the Gnationals are. Oh yeah, did Elijah Dukes stalk anyone yet or get arrested for any other crimes? Just checking…. Just deal with the fact that the Gnats will NEVER be a championship team and never have a chance to even sniff one. Must be alot of fun to root for that kind of team!

Steve the very unoriginal: I am so happy to be around DC and away from the stench that "despicable" little metsies like you give out all the time, I am so happy to be away from the "despicable" booing from fans like you, I am so happy to be away from the dirty little parking lot that is all the metsies have to call home, I am so happy to be away from pathetic so called fans like you who just don't know how to have a good time that I really don't care what my team does. If other people don't go to a game, I'm supposed to care? Its good, it leaves more good seats for me to pick. By the way, mr very unoriginal how did the metsies do in thbeir first year in the great Shea Stadium.. Sell out did they??? Hardly They didn't even get close to 2 million little metsies in the big NYC The only had 1,732,597 attendance genius. Boy is that a lot to brag about Mr unoriginal.. I'd rather have people stay home than go to a game and be an embarrasmnet to my team, my city my sport like you little metsies are…...
You think we are so bad, well the only thing you want is a champinoship isn't it. How many do you have since we've been in DC? NONE. How many you have this Century NONE… Enjoy another season of humiliating your team the boosies of the Queens parking lot….

DC: It's hard to face reality isn't it? How was it watching the Nationals last Sunday giving up 2 runs on a wild pitch? Your team gets a new park and does the unthinkable…it doesn't even sell out!!! And not to mention how thankful you need to be to NY since your best pitcher comes from here. Now go be a good little boy and head on back to Gnational land where you came from.

Good Lord, these people. Two years of holding Milledge back and doing nothing out of this guy and people STILL want him back?

Because he was able to hit dingers basically a decade ago?

I mean, it boggles the mind.

Is there no washed-up power hitter that people won't assume to be instantly made ten years younger by a New York uniform?

Steve the original who isn't very…...your post shows exactly how "despicable" little metsies like you really are. You see outside of the miserable and very unhappy metsie world we don't worry about a player being in a slump nor do we worry about the guy you gave us who by the way isn't lazy and you show your very lack of knoledge about anything when you say it. We have fun and picking on you grumpy and very unhappy metsie fans is fun. Even the Philthy fans are more a fun bunch than you metsies…..

so unoriginal how much money do you waste to go to a metsie game and be miserable????? I bet it makes you even more miserable when i ask you this most important of questions because it hits too close to home, doesn't it???

Take it easy there fellow, my mistake that diaz wasn't drafted by the Braves. That just shows how well the braves draft, diaz wasn't drafted by them, that's why is is average. My point is how well the Braves draft, not Matt Diaz.

The Braves did not draft Diaz he was drafted by the Rays.
Traded to the Royals and then the Braves.
Also his splits are terrible, mashs lefty's but is below average against righty's and is now being platooned by the Braves.
Diaz also plays terrible defense.
He is a little better than Pagan, not a game changer.

You don't have to look far in our division to see a team who knows how to draft. The Atlanta braves, McCann, Escobar, Johnson, Francoeur, Diaz, to name a few. They have a good farm system and there GM and scouts know how to draft.

I just heard on the wfan that the met game was canceled tonight. The Mets will make up the game August 11th, it will be a day game.

I never said that the mets were going to fire Willie and Omar by May if the mets were at .500, that was Klapisch. My point was that if there going to get rid of Willie than Omar should go also. That was what I was saying.

exactly, only two and they were in the middle to end of the top 100, big deal. When they were talking about those players to the twins, there were talks that the twins didn't even have high regards for those prospects. Neither did other organizations scouts. The point being is Omar and his scouts aren't doing a good job so far. It depends how long met fans want to give him and his scouts to build a good farm system. We are still waiting!!!

I love this place… nowhere else in america do so few argue about so many meaningless things. I love you little metsies, I don't know why since you are such an awnry bunch, but what the heck…. well, I guess I do know why, you all wish you were me and loved the game and had fun, something you little metsies forgot over the years. !!!! Thanks to clm for having fun with me… Maybe someday the rest of the little metsies will have fun too!!!!! What I love best is now you little metsies are fighting about farms and ranking ball players just like maple syrup.. Very imaginative little metsies…...much more imaginative than fighting about whether Willie or the worst GM in the world will go first…...

JM: I've heard the Beato name mentioned before. But he was a 17th round pick. Does anyone seriously think our farm system was harmed by not being able to sign a 17th round pick in 2005? One who is currently graded only a B- prospect by some?

Are there are any other instances or is Beato it for instances of being "burned" by slotting? If he's it, I can hardly see the case for a slotting issue. Seems more to me that talent evaluation needs to improve.
