Hey the Mets were satisfied with Delgado's output in '06' &#38; 'O7' (granted more of '06' then '07') and would have been willing to pay his 28mil for those two years.  Since the trade they have received 14mil over the three years from the Marlins (7mil up front,'06'-1mil, '07'-2mil, '08'-4mil. So doing skewed math they paid the first two years and only owe him 6mil to release him( 16mil '08' + 4mil '09' buyout - 14mil Marlins). Thats not much money to be keeping him around how much was frank Thomas' contract....</description>
