Greetings from the Wrigley roof top. Mets just finished taking batting practice and we will be underway in little over a half-hour.
John Maine against Carlos Zambrano. Maine’s fastball command has been off and his walks are way up. Can’t afford to let too many runners get on base in this place.
Spoke with Howard Johnson before the game and said he sees hope in Carlos Delgado if he stays patient. He also admitted a player his age coming off an injury and down year is reason to be concerned.
IN-GAME ANALYSIS
1st INNING: Easy inning for Maine, with help from Raul Casanova, who threw out a runner attempting to steal. Mets 0, Chicago 0.
4th INNING: Take away one pitch and Maine is pitching a great game. Of course, every pitch counts. Chicago 2, Mets 0.
7th INNING: Ron Santo sings “Take Me out to the Ballgame.’’ Chicago 2, Mets 1.

rebel: I think that JD can’t ban anyone as there is no registration system and that’s the only way to keep out trolls. Some including me have suggested registration but I think that’s a site-wide decision and not JD’s. So the only option is to stop feeding the troll.
tomg: I don’t think JD is a Yankee fan. He’s too smart for that. ; )
IIRC from last year, he grew up a Cleveland Indians fan but I could be wrong.

regardless of being a Stanks fan or not, people like DC undermine the intentions of the blog.

rebel: The email address is as arbitrary as the username. You can put in any email address there—even a made up one—and it won’t matter. JD can delete posts once they appear, and I’ve noticed on occasion him doing that. But technically I don’t think he has the ability to bar someone from posting.
I think the terms of service are to insulate the website and its owners from any legal liabilities more than anything else.
well deleting posts is one way to skin this knucklehead.
If you guys don’t like what DC says then don’t read him. He has the right to say what he wants. He isn’t posting any of the following: “unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent information of any kind, including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law.”
The fact is, you don’t like what he says, which is fine, so don’t read him. And no one is twisting your arm to respond.

Actually abusive is subjective in this matter. So is libel. But more so abusive.
Unless your an attorney there is no point going there. Mainly it is up to John or whomever runs the site.
To be honest I really do not care one way or the other. I can deal with it.. but I will not ignore the kid..Sometimes there are some interesting things that come out. However most everyone else seems to get upset..or when someone responds..
Keith: That’s the same advice tomg and I gave rebel so we agree on that. But as for Bob being DC, I think rebel nailed it. And it certainly wouldn’t be the first time someone took on multiple IDs here.
