Andrew: Beltran has 6 doubles, 6 walks, and a home run in 22 plate appearances versus lefties so far (compiling .438/.591/1.000/1.591 numbers). He and Wright are the principle reasons why the Mets are 5-1 versus lefties so far (with some surprising help from Church in this area). Take him out of the lineup, and that record versus lefties looks different.

I’m not bashing Willie, as I recognize that his hands are pretty much tied due to injuries. I’m just stating an observation on tonight’s lineup.

The bottom half of the Mets line up has done nothing for the last two games yet they have won both, so as long as the top 3 can produce, we have a good shot, Wright is not going to get anything to hit though.
