Ailing Mets …
RHP Pedro Martinez: The first rule regarding Mets’ injuries is always expect the worst.
When Martinez went down I wrote four to six was optimistic. We’re not going to see him before June. That’s based on what they are saying now. Personally, it wouldn’t shock me if we didn’t see him until after the All-Star break.

C Ramon Castro: Working out.
LF Moises Alou: Could get in a rehab game this weekend.
RHP Orlando Hernandez: In the boot. Won’t see him any time soon.

I’m perfectly fine with half-a-year of Pedro-if he comes back healthy; a big if.
Just get over Duque already. The team should just treat him as retired and move on. release him if neccessary.
And this year, his one big benefit (pitching in the PS) is a non-issue, since most likely, if they do make it, he wouldn’t start anyway (not that he would be able to).
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3350294 Hey Delcos, just wondering if you saw this story…Pedro says he’s feeling pretty good and that he’d like to return earlier then Omar is saying. Obviously we’ll have to wait to see what happens, but it’s encouraging, unlike your doom and gloom reports.
One of the benefits of being A big market club is that you are able to absorb hits to your club and still go on.
The Mets have close to 30 million dollars on the DL.
That is more than the entire Marlins payroll.
I said it last year. i’ll say it this year. he’s done. pay him off. kick him to the curb. and lets keep our bullpen going. and screw this damned pitch count. I think pelfrey should have pitched the 8th.
:-(
To Metsfan: Get back to me in June when Pedro is still on the DL.-JD
oh John, did you just make a funny? Well alright Delcos, how about you get back to me when you admit you’re wrong about something? OR, how about you get back to me when you don’t have such a cold view of the world. You’re such a freaking downer, do you have any friends?
